I’ve always loved baking… from decorating “Superman” cakes for my sons’ birthdays, to baking Pumpkin Roll and Lincoln Bread as the holiday season approaches. I felt cakes and other baked goods were in short supply here; it’s difficult to find high-quality cakes, cupcakes, and pastries that appreciate texture and flavor! — without having to pay special occasion prices. So I started this baking business, and have found that it’s the perfect opportunity to do something so enjoyable, and still work from home.

My kids come from a hodgepodge of backgrounds (from advertising and english to the culinary arts!), and they helped give me advice in launching my own baking business. And after several iterations, the name “sweet e.” was born. (Thank you, Elizabeth!)

I appointed my youngest, Eileen, as my “Business Manager,” so she has aided in the creation process, as well as managing expenses, deliveries, and visual materials, from the logo, to the menu and this online blog. (She had to explain to me what a blog was! Haha.)

It surely has been a lot of work-in-the-making, but I can assure you that it’s been such a wonderful process. We’ve already learned so much since moving forward with this idea, but we are still eager (and hungry!) to learn more. Any comments/suggestions to better our food are more welcome than nuisance, so please let us know how we can improve.
